Global Liquidity Experts: Bitcoin and Gold are the Preferred Core Assets to Tackle Long-term Currency Inflation

On November 25, global liquidity expert Michael Howell stated in the latest podcast that the trend of monetary inflation, which has significantly impacted the market over the past decade, is expected to last at least another 20 to 30 years. In this macro context, Bitcoin and gold become reasonable choices for investors to hedge against inflation. He suggested that when holding Bitcoin in a portfolio, adjustments should be made according to volatility to optimize risk-reward. Howell cited data from the Congressional Budget Office (CBO) indicating that from 2000 to 2025, the U.S. federal government's debt stock increased tenfold, while the S&P 500 index rose by less than five times during the same period, and gold prices increased twelvefold. This continuously expanding debt environment provides long-term value support for Bitcoin and gold. Discussing the Bitcoin market cycle, Howell mentioned that he did not find clear evidence of a “four-year cycle” in historical data, but the halving cycle of Bitcoin can be observed, with the current trend showing that the cycle is gradually converging. He emphasized that investors should consider both long-term trends and cyclical fluctuations when building a Crypto Assets portfolio. In terms of investment strategy, Howell advised that investors should hold Bitcoin, gold, and high-quality assets (such as high-quality residential real estate and stocks of companies with pricing power) that perform well during inflation as core holdings. At the same time, tactical operations can be set up in the portfolio to adjust risk moderately and optimize returns when market cycles reach turning points.
