On September 3, Jin10 reported that artificial intelligence giant OpenAI confirmed a restructuring of its executive team on Tuesday, creating a new position for Chief Technology Officer of Applications and acquiring product analytics company Statsig for $1.1 billion. The acquired company Statsig specializes in product optimization services such as A/B testing, and its founder and CEO Vijaye Raji will join OpenAI as Chief Technology Officer of Applications, reporting directly to the CEO of the application business, Fidji Simo. Simo joined OpenAI after resigning as CEO of fresh delivery platform Instacart on August 18. OpenAI stated in the announcement: "After the transaction is completed, Statsig employees will be integrated into the OpenAI team, and the company will continue to operate independently and serve existing clients from its Seattle headquarters."
