At the conference, Vitalik stated that Ethereum's short-term goal is scalability, which involves increasing the Gas limit of Ethereum L1 while maintaining Decentralization. The medium-term goal of Ethereum is cross-L2 interoperability with a faster response speed. The long-term vision is a secure, concise, quantum-resistant, and Formal Verification version of Ethereum.
