Even the government of El Salvador is taking the quantum computer threat seriously.



They recently moved their 6.3K $BTC from a main wallet into 14 different wallets, each holding a maximum of 500 BTC. That makes brute-forcing the private keys 14x harder.

Personally, I don’t think quantum computing is an immediate threat, but if it becomes, Bitcoin would be the least of our worries.

It would mean that any security system could be cracked: banks, missiles, corporate data, lab research, etc... In short, it would be complete chaos.
