The "Dinosaur Army" in the crypto market has been a bit restless lately. XRP, BCH, ZEC, LTC, ETC, XLM—these old coins heavily held by Grayscale—have recently shown some interesting signals collectively.
First, let's look at the data. During the peak of the 2021 bull market, these coins surprisingly did not surpass their 2017 all-time highs, instead appearing quite low-key. Even more astonishing is that they have been consolidating at the bottom for an incredibly long period—over 2,500 days. In other words, the holding periods for these coins are longer than many newcomers' entry cycles.
From a technical perspective, there's more to see. XRP and ZEC, as pioneers, are currently exhibiting textbook converging triangle patterns. The key point is that after breaking through their 2021 highs, they haven't looked back but have firmly remained above that level. This breakout and stabilization, combined with long-term sideways consolidation earlier, usually indicates that the chips have been thoroughly shaken out.
What's interesting is—coins that haven't collapsed during such a long bear market have already shaken out their speculative positions. Now, with the technical formations in place and capital starting to move, this could be a precursor to a new round of rotation.
Old coins won't disappear; they are just waiting. Will these survivors, having endured multiple cycles, collectively rise in the upcoming market? Stay tuned to this movement.
