The story of 2025 is not about governments falling in love with cryptocurrency, but about them finally making a choice.

The era of hesitation is over. Governments around the world can no longer pretend this is a temporary trend.

The reality is in front of us: some have embraced it, some have imposed restrictions, and some are trying to guide it. But no one can remain on the sidelines.

From El Salvador's bold experiment to the EU's MiCA framework, and the evolving attitudes of major economies like the United States—cryptocurrency regulation paths are accelerating their divergence worldwide. Regardless of the stance taken, the consensus among governments is: this ecosystem has grown large enough to face directly rather than avoid.

One sentence, regulatory divergence is the best outcome, much better than a global one-size-fits-all approach. Speaking of El Salvador's recent moves, they are indeed a bit aggressive. I really don't know what it will look like in five years. Countries have to choose sides now; those who keep hiding will look too weak. The MiCA framework seems to be tailor-made for big companies. The US attitude has been unpredictable, but at least now there is a stance, much better than hiding in the shadows before.

Ha, finally no more pretense. This is the reality. The government changing its stance so quickly shows that the crypto world has won. El Salvador's move was indeed brilliant. Now it seems other countries are learning from it. The US is still dithering, but sooner or later they will have to choose a side. Speaking of which, how big will the gap be in the future between countries that choose to embrace and those that set limits? With regulatory divergence, what should retail investors do? Follow the policies or not? Or is this just an arbitrage opportunity? No country can truly stay out of it now; the times have indeed changed. The MiCA framework looks quite strict, but at least it provides certainty, much better than vague bans. The question is, when will domestic authorities also clarify their stance? If they keep being ambiguous, who dares to hold heavy positions? If this cycle is truly policy-driven, how crazy could it get?

Really, governments are finally not pretending anymore; it's time to choose sides. Still trying to hide? Dream on, this is a huge game. El Salvador made the right bet, right? Are other countries now regretting it? Regulatory divergence is a good thing, much better than a blanket ban, at least there's room for movement. What is the US stance exactly? Feels like it's been wavering all along. Each doing their own thing actually creates opportunities for innovation; it's quite interesting. Not choosing is itself the biggest choice; it's a game you can't escape. The framework is in place, but the real test has just begun. What sounds like "facing directly" is actually just compromise. Who can stay uninvolved? Everyone can smell the scent of money.
