Taiwan's silicon photonics concept stocks soar, driving the Taiwan stock index to break through 28,000 points, with the memory chip sector poised for a surge.

As the international stock market rally continues to heat up, the Taiwan stock market showed strong momentum immediately after opening today (22nd). The early gains exceeded 300 points, with the highest intraday surge reaching 28,100 points, hitting a recent high. Supported by heavyweight stocks such as TSMC and Hon Hai, along with widespread capital inflows into core industries like semiconductors, memory, and silicon photonics, over 24 listed stocks hit the daily limit-up, with active trading and overwhelming bullish sentiment.

Stable leadership from heavyweight stocks, active industry capital flow

TSMC (2330) opened high and continued to rise today, reaching around 1,470 NT dollars in the early session, with an increase of nearly 2.8%, playing a stabilizing role for the market. Hon Hai (2317) also rose moderately, up over 1.8% during the session. In contrast, MediaTek (2454) showed a pattern of opening red and turning black, with a decline of over 1% at one point, reflecting rotation and profit-taking within the electronics sector.

A highlight in capital allocation is the full-scale activation of the memory industry. Powerchip (6770) surged strongly in the early session, hitting the daily limit at 40.45 NT dollars, with a trading volume exceeding 460,000 shares, becoming the market favorite. Nanya Technology’s subsidiary, Fuman Technology (8131), announced a 700 million NT dollar investment to expand advanced packaging capacity and capture AI and high-performance computing memory markets, with its stock price also hitting the limit-up at 56.3 NT dollars, maintaining strong buying interest.

Taiwan silicon photonics concept stocks flourish, third-generation semiconductors benefit simultaneously

The biggest highlight of the market comes from the collective performance of silicon photonics and emerging semiconductor groups. GaAs wafer foundry leader Win Semiconductors (3105), after consolidating last week, surged again today to 191 NT dollars, hitting the daily limit-up. Market analysts believe this is driven by the order transfer effect from international giants adjusting GaN chip business, which benefits the Taiwanese supply chain expansion.

Taiwanese silicon photonics concept stocks are blooming everywhere. Huaxing Optoelectronics (4979) rose over 9%, Wite (6706) increased more than 8%, while BoroWai (3163), Fan Chuan (6830), and Walsin Electric (2344) all gained over 5%. The market is enthusiastic about optical communication and high-speed transmission themes.

Diverse sectors rise together, healthy market rotation

Today’s market demonstrates healthy capital rotation, not limited to the semiconductor and optoelectronic sectors. In communications and networking, Xin Fuxing (4909), Huadian Network (6163), and Yaodeng (3138) all hit the daily limit-up; in electronic components, Yijia (2402), Wende (6761), and Wacom (2313) performed strongly; in construction, chemicals, peripherals, and automotive sectors, stocks like Gongxin (5521), Risheng Chemical (1735), Dazhong Holdings (3701), and Jimiao (1587) also hit the limit-up. The risk appetite has clearly increased, with funds actively seeking rebound and thematic opportunities.

Year-end rally begins, growth themes take center stage

Overall, today’s trend shows that Taiwan stocks successfully broke through recent consolidation patterns, led by industries with solid fundamentals and strong growth potential. Analysts point out that as AI computing demand expands, driven by cloud and edge devices, the supply chain for advanced semiconductor processes, memory, advanced packaging, and high-speed transmission will continue to benefit.

Investors should focus on stocks that foreign investors continue to favor, have technological leadership, and clear operational prospects for next year, especially during the year-end rally for bottom-up deployment. However, they should be cautious of rapid market rotation, avoid blindly chasing highs, and prioritize targets supported by industry fundamentals, while closely monitoring international stock market performance and trading volume changes as operational references.
