The current state of the open-source model ecosystem is quite interesting to analyze. Over the past two years, some obvious changes can indeed be observed:

First, the performance of Chinese open-source models. Projects like Qwen and DeepSeek have clearly widened the gap in adoption rates and performance benchmarks, with many metrics surpassing similar foreign solutions. Whether in practical applications or benchmark scores, this advantage is quite solid.

On the other hand, the situation with Western open-source models is a bit awkward. The Llama series has long dominated, but new alternatives have yet to break through. This gap has persisted for quite a while, and it seems there are no promising newcomers to truly fill this position. Everyone is still relying on the inertia of Llama to move forward, but the voice of innovation has indeed weakened.
