Want to make quick money with DeFi? Understand the risks first.

I've seen many people rush into the USD1 lending pool, only to be liquidated after a sudden plunge. Honestly, every profit story has risks behind it. Let’s talk about a few of the most common—

**Code risk is unavoidable**
Although Liste has undergone multiple audits and has a pause mechanism for protection, it doesn’t change the fact: complete safety simply doesn’t exist. Smart contracts are code, and code can have vulnerabilities. The key is that risks are present, and you need to consider whether you can handle them.

**Liquidation risk is the meat grinder**
Friends who collateralize BNB to borrow USD1 are most likely to fall here. You collateralize 100 BNB, everything looks good—until BNB suddenly crashes. Your collateral value drops below the liquidation threshold, and the system automatically sells some of your BNB to repay the debt—no negotiations. In the end, not only do you fail to earn profits, but your principal also shrinks.

**The arbitrage cake can break**
Borrow low-interest USD1 to invest in high-yield products? Sounds great, but interest rate spreads are not ironclad. If a leading platform suddenly adjusts its lending rate, or network congestion causes delays in your operations, your gains disappear. Sometimes it’s not your strategy that’s the problem, but the market has changed.

**So, what’s the way to play?**
Start small, think deeply. Begin with small amounts, study every button carefully. Set price alerts to monitor your collateral’s market. And most importantly—never move the capital you can’t afford to lose. DeFi is powerful, but it should be used with reverence.

The risk of liquidation is no joke; I've seen too many people lose everything over a single needle. Once someone inserts a needle, they're gone—this is the game rule of DeFi. Start with small mistakes, set up early warning systems—that's the way to survive. The moment the liquidation line is broken, the system automatically forces you out; there's no room for negotiation. Code vulnerabilities are inevitable; respecting the market is the key to longevity. Just calculating interest rate spreads doesn't count as risk; the results are often quite ugly. Start small—if you can't afford it, don't get involved.

Another article about risks, but how many people have actually stepped into the坑? Regarding the liquidity risk I mentioned, I know someone who was wiped out by a needle injection—instant liquidity loss, and their principal was gone. It's not that DeFi isn't profitable; it's that most people simply don't deserve to play with such high-risk things.

The liquidation line is the dead line. I still remember my friend's experience of losing 100 BNB directly to zero. The lesson was too deep.

It's the story of liquidation again, and I can't understand why some people are willing to risk their entire wealth just for a little interest margin. No need to say more, liquidation really is a meat grinder. I've seen too many people go from prosperity to poverty overnight. DeFi is fine, the problem is human greed... "start small" is the most practical advice.

Really, after being liquidated once due to a pin, you truly understand what mental exhaustion means. It's easy to say, but only when you do the math do you realize how risky it really is. No matter how many code audits are done, safety can't be guaranteed—this is a gambler's game. Once the liquidation line is broken, it's over; there's no human touch involved. Interest spreads look high, but they disappear when the market turns—I've experienced it myself. Small-scale trial and error is the way to go; don't be greedy.
