Privacy may seem simple, but in reality, it's a dead end.

Think about real life—some things are only suitable for sharing with friends, some photos are only meant for certain people, and behaviors that don't matter today might be something you'd want to erase ten years from now.

But the problem is, if privacy settings only have two options: either fully public or completely hidden. Most people would probably choose the latter, locking everything away.
