Dev token lockups matter—a solid rule of thumb is enforcing at least 6 months to 1 year minimum hold periods. This timeframe actually aligns incentives: keeps builders committed long-term, signals skin-in-the-game to the market, and filters out opportunistic behavior early on. Projects that skip proper vesting structures often face issues down the road when early contributors dump holdings.

Damn, that's why I immediately skip projects without locked tokens. It really can lead to losses.

I've seen too many early contributors run away; without real lock-in, you really can't hold on.

Data shows that projects without lock-up periods in the past have indeed collapsed later on, but six months is too short.

6 months to 1 year? Bro, that's too low a standard. The truly reliable projects I've seen lock in for at least 2 years. I've seen too many devs rushing to cash out quickly. Projects without locking mechanisms are almost certainly going to run away. Agreed, incentive mechanisms need to be matched; otherwise, it's just empty talk. What you said this time is right. Filtering out speculators is actually filtering out risks. Smart people do exactly that.

Nah, don't talk nonsense. A truly reliable project isn't enough in just one year; I think it needs to be locked for at least two years.

Damn, that's why so many projects go bankrupt in just two months, the devs don't care at all.

ngl the 6-12 month lockup thing is basically table stakes at this point... but you'd be shocked how many "serious projects" still ship with zero vesting structure lmao. it's like watching people reinvent rug pull mechanics from first principles

This is how you seriously work on a project. The lock-up period can reveal whether the team is genuine or not.
