CoinVoice has learned that, according to reports from French media cited by Cryptopolitan, a former French tax official may have leaked data of cryptocurrency holders, increasing the risk of physical attacks targeting this group. The former tax official, Ghalia C., has been convicted of aiding organized crime and is currently appealing.

Investigations show that she used access to confidential tax databases to gather information on potential targets, including cryptocurrency investors, and may have leaked their location and capital gains data.

Although there is no evidence that she planned actual attacks against cryptocurrency holders, this case highlights the risk that the tax system could become a source of data leaks. As European tax authorities tighten monitoring of cryptocurrency assets, such data breaches could pose higher security threats to holders.
