Having been in the crypto market for many years, I’ve come to understand one thing more and more clearly—surviving longer is a thousand times more important than getting rich quickly.
When I first entered the scene in early 2020, I only had $1,800. During that time, I couldn’t sleep at night, afraid that I might accidentally lose my principal. Everywhere I looked, there were voices of "leverage doubling" and "getting rich overnight," but after seeing too many people get liquidated every few days, I decided to take a different path—divide the $1,800 into six parts, $300 each, and only buy relatively stable coins, sticking to the simplest strategy of "buy low and sell high."
The results exceeded my expectations. In the first week, I made $420; in the second week, my account broke $3,000; by the third week, it shot up to $6,200. This small experiment taught me that, beyond technical skills, mindset is more crucial.
From $6,200 to $45,000, I kept doing the same thing: when the market fell into panic, I entered to buy the dip; when it was wildly chasing highs, I decisively exited. I don’t follow the herd with calls, I don’t blindly chase rallies, and I certainly don’t dare to go all-in with heavy positions.
Some say I’m too conservative, but they haven’t seen through one phenomenon—the market doesn’t require you to make the biggest profit every time; it requires you to survive every time.
The most memorable incident was when a popular coin surged 300% in a week, and the community exploded with calls of "opening up the pattern." I took profits and only captured about 60% of the rise before selling. The next day, the project team ran away, and the coin’s price was halved. Those who laughed at me for being "timid" never spoke again afterward.
The three biggest traps in the crypto market are: all-in mentality, chasing hot trends frequently, and ignoring risk control. Hitting just one of these makes it very unlikely to recover your account. Instead of studying complicated technical indicators, ask yourself first: can you resist the temptation?
