Techub News: Babylon contributor @GrumpyLaurie55348 posted on GitHub indicating that there is a vulnerability in Babylon's BLS voting extension handling mechanism. This vulnerability could allow malicious validators to cause disruptions during network consensus. Attackers can intentionally omit the block hash field when sending blocks, leading to crashes among other validators at network cycle boundaries, thereby slowing down block production. The severity of this vulnerability is rated high, affecting versions prior to 4.2.0. Currently, no users have reported this vulnerability being exploited.
