Pump.fun Co-founder Alon Cohen recently wrote about the issue of creator fees. The dynamic fee V1 launched a few months ago has indeed had an effect—many newcomers flooded into the platform to issue tokens, live stream sales, and trading volume doubled, reaching a good level on-chain by 2025.

But Alon Cohen admits that this approach doesn't go far. The problem is that the mechanism actually encourages low-risk operations (issuing tokens) rather than high-risk trading activities. For ordinary meme coin deployers, the existing fee structure doesn't change much—they still issue tokens, and it hasn't incentivized creative strategies (such as sharing fees with opinion leaders to expand the community). In other words, the purpose of creator fees has not been fully realized.

It sounds like a major revolution is coming. Alon Cohen revealed that more details will be announced soon, and a new development plan is underway.

Dynamic fee V1 is this? Feels like just a way to fleece some newbies. It's "preparing a new plan" again, same excuse every time, let's wait and see. These people just don't want to truly incentivize creativity, still thinking about how to scalp users. They launched without understanding the fee mechanism, and now they say there's a problem... Isn't that nonsense? I think in the end, it's still the zero-sum game with old wine in a new bottle.

Here comes another mechanism change. Can this wave truly inspire some creative gameplay? --- Is this all for dynamic fee V1? Feels like it still hasn't hit the right spot. --- Wait, so now people issuing tokens actually have little pressure? Then what's the point of changing anything? --- Haha, Alon is starting to "prepare" again. I just wonder if this time it will be another empty promise. --- Encouraging low-risk operations actually has a bit of reverse incentive meaning. --- Honestly, I've seen too many promises of "great transformations to come." Let's wait for the details before making any judgments. --- The idea of sharing fees with KOLs is pretty good. Why didn't I think of that earlier? --- Existing creator fees are virtually useless? That's a pretty bold conclusion. --- Change, change, change. When will it finally settle down for a while?

Basically, the current mechanism is a bit sluggish, and the low threshold for issuing tokens has actually discouraged people from coming up with creative ideas.

Well... to put it simply, the current mechanism doesn't really incentivize any creativity; everyone is just blindly issuing tokens. --- After changing the fees for so long, the fundamental problem still isn't solved. It feels like a major overhaul is needed. --- Wait, is the new plan really to help creators make real money, or is it just another scheme to cut the leeks? --- Dynamic Fees V1 is just this? No wonder Alon thinks it won't go far; the entire design is a bit too simple. --- Honestly, the idea of sharing revenue with opinion leaders should have been tried long ago. Why hasn't anyone thought of that? --- It's another "coming soon." I don't buy it. Let's wait until the new plan is out. --- Right now is the token issuance boom period. Who cares about the fee structure? As long as there's profit, that's all that matters. --- Doubling trading volume sounds good, but the incentive mechanism is essentially useless, which is a real problem. --- In my opinion, if Pump really wants to break through, it needs to change from the root; otherwise, it will just be the same old tricks.

I've already said that this model doesn't work. Are you only realizing it now? If the mechanism isn't designed tough enough, it can't incentivize truly innovative gameplay.
