The recently trending "Dead or Alive" app looks like a lightweight implementation of the ancient security mechanism known as the Dead Man's Switch. In simple terms, it's a practical and straightforward little tool.

I first delved into this concept when I was immersed in the Arweave ecosystem. At that time, I was quite interested in the "Coffin Protocol" project, which also uses the Dead Man's Switch logic. To this day, the tokens issued by that project are still sitting in my wallet, and I can see the records on Coingecko.

Interestingly, a mechanism once discussed within a small circle has now become popular through a minimalistic app. This feels like the rhythm of Web3 innovation—good ideas always get rediscovered and popularized in some form at some point.

Haha, is this thing dead? Indeed, it's absolutely dead. Finally simplified this set of logic. I'm also holding some Stone Protocol tokens. A bunch of people hyped it up back then, but now there's no news. Web3 is just like that, going in circles. Repackage old concepts, and when new rookies come in, it will fire up again.

Is this thing dead? To put it simply, it's just packaging obscure knowledge into popular applications, really nothing new. The Sarcophagus Protocol was already experimenting with this back then, and only now is it gaining popularity. Web3 seems to be like this—a cycle of reincarnation. In the end, these things often become marketing gimmicks, and how many actual users are there? Early adopters made a killing, but now those entering should be careful. The disable switch sounds fancy, but in practice, it's just so-so.

Basically, it's a reimagining of the death switch concept. Be cautious of the systemic risks associated with such applications.

Haha, I'm also just holding the coin of the Stone Coffin Protocol, I forgot about it long ago. The concept of Dead Man's Switch is really a cycle, who would have thought it would now be used for life and death declarations. Finally, someone has made this set of tools lightweight and simple enough; it was too complicated before. Web3 is really like this—good ideas never die, they just wait for the right moment. This app is gaining popularity quite suddenly, did a big influencer endorse it? Arweave ecosystem remnants in the wallet, we were really ahead of the curve back then.

Haha, the coins from the Haha Coffin Protocol are still here, this is faith. Honestly, it's quite normal for such mechanisms to go from a small circle breaking out to a viral hit. The disable switch is indeed a good thing. Who would have thought that such an obscure security logic could be packaged into a phenomenon-level application? But I actually think this is what Web3 should be doing—simplifying complex things for the masses to use. Wait, are you still holding onto those old Arweave ecosystem coins?

The Stone Coffin Protocol I also hold the coin, I forgot about it long ago, haha ------ Is this thing really dead? It was indeed overly popular, but it’s definitely a good idea ------ Feels like Web3 always does this—revamping old stuff to go viral ------ Wait, is there still anyone in the Arweave ecosystem? I thought I was the only one lurking ------ The disabled switch mechanism is basically a smart will; someone should have made a simplified version long ago ------ Damn, I need to check if the project coins in my wallet are still there ------ Minimalist applications are always the king; no matter how good complex things are, no one uses them ------ The small community discussions are now mainstream applications, the cycle of the times, everyone ------ By the way, how is the Stone Coffin Protocol doing now? Is the project team still around? ------ This is what innovation looks like—lightening old concepts can make them explode

Haha, the coins of the Stone Coffin Protocol are still lying around. Is this wave really dead? It truly made obscure mechanisms hot. --- The story of the disable switch is straightforward—finally someone made it simple enough. --- How many good things did we miss during the Arweave period? Now it's being revived by small applications. --- Old ideas with new packaging, Web3 is this kind of thing—a cycle-making machine. --- The coins are still gathering dust in the wallet, and now they're popular again. This feeling is truly amazing. --- Who would have thought that the roundtable discussion topics from a few years ago would become a nationwide phenomenon now? --- Simple and straightforward things are the easiest to break through the circle, it's just that simple.

Is it dead? This thing is actually just turning cold knowledge into hot knowledge. I also looked at the logic of the stone coffin protocol back then, and it does feel a bit late for it to become popular now. Honestly, the concept of the disable switch should have been popularized in Web3 a long time ago. Why is it only being "discovered" now? That's just how the crypto world is. Good stuff is buried in deep water, and suddenly when an application packages it, it blows up across the entire network. It's a bit outrageous. My coins from the Arweave era are still gathering dust. If it weren't for your article, I would have forgotten about this. It seems like Web3 innovation is a bit like a digging game—only after someone fills the hole can you see what's really underneath.
