South Korea Launches Spot Investment Funds #Bitcoin

South Korea plans to launch spot investment funds #بيتكوين this year, indicating a significant shift in digital asset policy. This move is part of the "2026 Economic Growth Strategy" recently unveiled by the government, led by the Financial Services Commission.

Until now, cryptocurrencies have not been recognized as eligible underlying assets for exchange-traded funds, preventing local investors from participating. But this situation is about to change.

This represents a shift from strict regulation to institutional adoption, inspired by the success of spot investment funds #BTC in the United States and Hong Kong. Lawmakers are also expected to accelerate amendments to the Capital Markets Act to facilitate this.

Asia is witnessing a surge in institutional adoption of Bitcoin. ₿
