Finally, someone has properly combined privacy and programmability, rather than the old-fashioned all-or-nothing approach. The idea behind Neptune is indeed excellent. If Triton VM can really be implemented, the Layer 1 landscape might need to change. But I still want to see how the actual performance turns out; relying solely on theoretical data can be very misleading.

According to the white paper, the idea behind Triton VM is essentially to upgrade privacy from a patch to the core. But the key question is—are the long-term incentives of governance token holders truly compatible with this architecture? It is worth noting that without constraints at the DAO level, who will bear the risk of developers' power expansion and adjustable privacy settings?

Finally, someone has combined privacy and programmability. Those previous choices of either privacy or functionality were really annoying. To be honest, if Neptune's system can run smoothly, the ZK route might really turn things around. But how is Triton VM's actual performance? Will running on the mainnet be another story... I like the idea of making privacy a standard feature, but it still depends on whether real-world applications can keep up. This is the kind of thing that a proper L1 should do, otherwise what's the difference from public chains? Zero-knowledge proofs are finally being used in the right place, unlike before when they were so useless. Wait, won't the development difficulty be especially high... feels like I have to start from zero again.
