Abstract generation in progress

Virtual asset exchange security issues are becoming increasingly serious. According to sources from PANews, Turkey’s major cryptocurrency exchange BTCTurk was again targeted by a large-scale hacking attack on January 1st local time. The losses from this incident are estimated to be around $48 million.

Repeated Security Crises

This is not the first major hacking incident experienced by BTCTurk. On August 14th last year, BTCTurk was also targeted by a similar attack, resulting in losses of approximately $49 million. The consecutive security incidents in a short period raise questions about the exchange’s defense mechanisms.

Expansion to Trustworthiness Issues

From the perspective of Turkish time, the repeated exposure of major players in the local cryptocurrency market to hacking attacks affects the overall industry’s credibility. Experts point out that large-scale exchanges need to focus more on building robust security infrastructure and protecting user assets. If incidents like BTCTurk continue, changes are expected in users’ criteria for choosing exchanges and their methods of asset storage.
