By 2026, the explosive development of generative AI has brought a sharp reality—who are the true beneficiaries of creative content? Large-scale language models consume hundreds of millions of texts, images, and codes during training, leading to ongoing copyright disputes, while data sources remain shrouded in a black box. Traditional intellectual property management systems rely on centralized institutions, with cumbersome processes and low efficiency, unable to keep up with AI's demand for data traceability and real-time authorization.
This contradiction has been directly addressed by a new blockchain project—Story Protocol. Rather than just another NFT project, it has built a complete "IP Blockchain" infrastructure. Official data shows that the global intellectual property asset scale reaches $80 trillion, and Story's goal is to bring all these assets onto the chain, turning them into programmable tokenized assets. From texts, music, and code to creative ideas themselves, all can become tradable, licensable, and traceable assets on the protocol.
In February last year, the Story mainnet officially launched and introduced its native token, marking the project's transition from development to real operation. In the following months, the team completed multiple network upgrades and hard forks, continuously refining security and infrastructure performance. The core logic of this system is clear—empowering creators to control the pricing and licensing of their works, while providing AI developers and derivative creators with a transparent, compliant way to obtain permissions. IP assets are no longer scattered, ownerless items across various platforms, but truly belong to creators as fluid digital assets.
