California American Water has completed a $156,500 upgrade at its Carmel Valley Ranch wastewater treatment plant, replacing older rotating drum screens with new, more efficient intake and effluent screens. This upgrade is expected to reduce maintenance needs and lower energy consumption, improving both operational cleanliness and efficiency. The company, which has operated the plant since 2002, also continues its F.O.G. (Fats, Oils, and Grease) education program to prevent clogs and protect equipment.
