Vice Foreign Minister Miao Deyu Attends Reception for Namibia's 36th Anniversary of Independence

On March 21, 2026, Vice Minister of Foreign Affairs Miao Deyu was invited to attend Namibia’s 36th Independence Day celebration hosted by the Namibian Embassy in China and met with Namibian Ambassador to China, Eimvula. Miao Deyu congratulated Namibia on its Independence Day, stating that China-Namibia traditional friendship is deep and resilient, having withstood the test of international changes and challenges. In recent years, under the strategic guidance of the two heads of state, China-Namibia comprehensive strategic partnership has developed deeply, effectively benefiting the peoples of both countries. China is willing to continue the traditional friendship with Namibia, work together to seek development, and contribute to building a new era of all-weather China-Africa community of shared future and promoting global South solidarity and cooperation. Eimvula expressed that China’s National People’s Congress and Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference recently concluded successfully, and Namibia warmly congratulates them. Namibia values the traditional friendship with China based on mutual respect and shared vision, firmly upholds the One China principle, and sincerely appreciates China’s valuable support for Namibia’s national liberation and economic and social development.
