The Iraqi Civil Aviation Authority issued a statement on the 4th, stating that in light of the ongoing escalation of regional tensions, it has decided to extend the national airspace closure for an additional 72 hours. The statement said that this extension will take effect from 12:00 local time on the 4th and will end at 12:00 on the 7th, during which all inbound and outbound flights and transit aircraft are prohibited. The statement pointed out that the decision was based on a continuous assessment of the current security situation and developments in the region, with relevant departments set to assess and announce subsequent arrangements based on the latest conditions. This round of airspace closure in Iraq was implemented following a joint military strike by the United States and Israel against Iran on February 28. Iran subsequently conducted missile and drone strikes against Israeli and U.S. targets in the Middle East, dramatically escalating the regional situation. (CCTV News)
