Exclusive! Taiping Pension Qimei Zhu may become the General Manager of Harbor Life Insurance
On March 27, news broke that Qi Meizhu, the deputy general manager of Taiping Pension, may take over as general manager of Haigang Life Insurance.
Public information shows that Qi Meizhu graduated from Shanghai Jiao Tong University with a degree in Business Administration, holds a master’s degree in Business Administration from a part-time graduate program, and possesses qualifications as a North American actuary and a Chinese actuary.

In terms of professional experience, Qi Meizhu has served as the chief actuary and general manager of the planning department at Lujiazui Cathay Life Insurance; as the director of product management in the product development department and the director of market development in the group business department at China Pacific Life Insurance Company. Since June 2015, Qi Meizhu has been the chief actuary at Taiping Pension; starting in January 2017, he also took on the role of financial officer; and since December 2021, he has served as deputy general manager, overseeing the finance and accounting department, strategic planning department, product actuarial department, and asset management department.
On February 4 of this year, Taiping Pension held the 2026 work meeting to fully implement the spirit of the group work meeting, summarize the company’s operational work in 2025, and deploy key tasks for 2026. Qi Meizhu, in his capacity as a member of the Taiping Pension Party Committee and deputy general manager, conveyed the spirit of the China Taiping Insurance Group 2026 work meeting.
In August 2024, the Liaoning branch of Taiping Pension held a customer exchange seminar in Shenyang titled “Traditional Chinese Medicine Protects Livelihood, Annuities Lead to Shared Peace.” In his speech, Qi Meizhu stated that Taiping Pension, starting with corporate annuities, has formed a complete licensing advantage after twenty years of efforts, established an efficient operational system, and built a rich talent reserve. In the future, Taiping Pension will continue to deepen its focus on the pension business, actively participate in the construction of a multi-level, multi-pillar pension insurance system in the country, and collaboratively explore a Liaoning model for pension finance that contributes to the revitalization of Northeast China and the promotion of a happy and fulfilling pension life in the new era.
The “handover” individual, Qiao Ning, was born in February 1964 and graduated from Hebei Radio and Television University and the Central Party School Correspondence College, and is a member of the Communist Party of China. After joining Taiping Life, Qiao Ning started from the grassroots level and held several positions within Taiping Life, including general manager of the Hebei, Jiangsu, and Shandong branches.
Since October 2016, Qiao Ning has served as the market director (assistant general manager level) of Taiping Life. In March 2018, he led company members to Xinjiang for field research, listening to grassroots employees’ opinions, and carefully recording the needs and suggestions from the branches in terms of systems, services, and other aspects. Since August 2023, Qiao Ning has been the general manager of Haigang Life Insurance.
The Haigang Life website shows that the current executive team also includes deputy general manager and chief actuary Ren Jing; deputy general manager and chief investment officer Zhang Zhan; financial officer Wu Jun; and board secretary Wang Lihu.
