People’s Finance Network, March 27—According to the National Bureau of Statistics, in January–February 2026, profit performance in major industries was as follows: profits of the computer, communications, and other electronic equipment manufacturing industry grew 2.0 times year over year; profits in the non-ferrous metal smelting and pressing processing industry grew 1.5 times; profits in the chemical raw materials and chemical products manufacturing industry grew 35.9%; profits in the non-metallic mineral products industry grew 16.2%; profits in the textile industry grew 12.6%; profits in the agricultural and sideline food processing industry grew 8.0%; profits in the electrical machinery and equipment manufacturing industry grew 6.2%; profits in the coal mining and washing industry grew 4.5%; profits in the special equipment manufacturing industry grew 4.3%; profits in the general equipment manufacturing industry grew 3.6%; and profits in the power, heat production and supply industry grew 3.4%. The oil, coal, and other fuel processing industry turned from losses to profits, while profits in the oil and natural gas extraction industry fell 16.8%, profits in the automobile manufacturing industry fell 30.2%, and the ferrous metal smelting and pressing processing industry incurred additional losses.
