Seamless steel pipe manufacturer Tenaris expands its Canadian operations footprint through the acquisition of AllTorque
Seamless steel pipe manufacturer Tenaris has acquired the oilfield business unit of AllTorque, a tubular running-in technology manufacturer, to expand its service coverage and business presence in Canada.
The company said the acquisition is built on the existing cooperation between the two parties and will further strengthen its WISer solutions for Rig Direct customers, aiming to improve wellbore integrity and operational efficiency.
AllTorque is headquartered in Red Deer, Alberta, and has nearly 30 years of operating history. It focuses on the R&D and production of torque–turn monitoring systems for drilling rigs.
Tenaris said the technology was launched as a service in 2022 and, across more than 5,000 job projects in North America, South America, and Europe, has cumulatively supported 23.5 million meters of running-in operations for oilfield tubular goods.
Tenaris Canada President Martin Castro said: “This acquisition marks another important step in Tenaris’ continued deepening of the Canadian market, further strengthening our differentiated advantages as one of the country’s leading manufacturers of oilfield tubular goods—especially in areas that require seamless products, patented threaded connections, and providing direct-to-rig services.”
According to Tenaris, since 2020, the company has invested more than $228 million (CAD 314 million) in its Canadian business and employs more than 1,200 people across Canada.
Its business scope includes an industrial manufacturing base in Sault Ste. Marie, as well as service centers established in Edmonton, Grande Prairie, and Fort St. John; in addition, related facilities dedicated to attachments, coating, and pipe-thread machining, along with a business office in Calgary and an R&D center in Toronto.
