Zhejiang: Yi Lianhong has been dismissed, and his delegate qualification has been terminated.

According to the Zhejiang Daily, the Standing Committee of the Zhejiang Provincial People’s Congress issued a notice on March 26. Among them, the Hangzhou Municipal People’s Congress Standing Committee decided to remove Yi Lianhong from his position as a representative of the 14th Provincial People’s Congress. In accordance with the relevant provisions of the Representative Law, Yi Lianhong’s qualification as a representative is terminated.

Previously, on February 10, the website of the Central Commission for Discipline Inspection and the National Supervisory Commission announced that Yi Lianhong, the deputy director of the Finance and Economic Committee of the 14th National People’s Congress, was suspected of serious violations of discipline and law and is currently undergoing disciplinary review and supervision investigation by the Central Commission for Discipline Inspection and the National Supervisory Commission.

Yi Lianhong was born in September 1959 in Lianyuan, Hunan Province. He has served as a member of the Standing Committee of the Hunan Provincial Party Committee, Secretary-General of the Hunan Provincial Party Committee, a member of the Standing Committee of the Hunan Provincial Party Committee and Secretary of the Changsha Municipal Party Committee, a member of the Standing Committee of the Liaoning Provincial Party Committee and Secretary of the Shenyang Municipal Party Committee, and Deputy Secretary of the Liaoning Provincial Party Committee and Secretary of the Shenyang Municipal Party Committee, among other positions.

In 2018, Yi Lianhong was appointed Deputy Secretary of the Jiangxi Provincial Party Committee and Governor, and in October 2021, he became Secretary of the Jiangxi Provincial Party Committee.

In December 2022, he was appointed Secretary of the Zhejiang Provincial Party Committee and will resign in October 2024. In November of the same year, he will be reassigned to the National People’s Congress until he was investigated.
