According to the semi-official Iranian news agency Fars News on Friday, the United States and Israel launched airstrikes on Iran’s two largest steel mills, which are partially owned by the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps of Iran.

The targets of the airstrikes were the Khuzestan Steel mill located near the southwestern city of Ahvaz and the Mobarakeh Steel mill in Isfahan, with the accompanying power plant of Mobarakeh Steel also being attacked.

Iranian sources have stated that following the U.S.-Israeli strikes on Iranian steel mills, Iran has listed six steel mills within Israel and relevant industrial facilities in five neighboring countries as new targets for retaliatory strikes. It is reported that Iran’s response actions will not be limited to the regional steel industry and may take broader and more intense measures.
