Ministry of Education: Strictly prohibit evaluating and ranking schools based on admission rates or exam scores, and prohibit publicity and hype around top scorers, prestigious school admission rates, and advancement rates.

On March 27, People’s Financial News reported that the Office of the Ministry of Education issued a notice regarding the implementation of a year of action to consolidate standardized management in basic education. The notice proposed a negative list of 20 items, including a strict prohibition on assessing and ranking schools based on enrollment rates or exam scores, ranking and rewarding or punishing teachers, promoting and sensationalizing high school and college entrance exam top scorers, prestigious school rates, and enrollment rates, as well as hanging “college source base” plaques or other inducive enrollment slogans on campus.
