UN Secretary-General establishes a dedicated task force on the Strait of Hormuz situation

Odaily Planet Daily News: Local time March 27, United Nations Secretary-General’s spokesperson Stéphane Dujarric said regarding the situation in the Strait of Hormuz that, as the Middle East conflict continues to develop and could possibly escalate further, a disruption of maritime trade through the Strait of Hormuz may, in the coming months, trigger a chain reaction affecting humanitarian needs and agricultural production. Although Secretary-General Guterres is committed to doing everything possible to achieve a comprehensive and lasting resolution of the conflict, it is crucial to take immediate action to mitigate these consequences. To address these challenges, the Secretary-General has established a dedicated working group. (CCTV News)
