Recently, the Ministry of Education issued a notice to initiate the implementation of the Year of Consolidation for Standardized Management in Basic Education. This is the third consecutive year that the Ministry has deployed standardized management work in basic education following the Year of Standardized Management in Basic Education in 2024 and the Year of Improvement for Standardized Management in Basic Education in 2025. The aim is to further improve the long-term mechanism, solidify the management foundation, enhance governance effectiveness, and promote the fair and high-quality development of basic education. The notice specifies five key tasks for consolidation. First, consolidate and enhance the level of educational equity by standardizing enrollment practices, regulating student status management, and addressing the issue of “hidden dropouts,” to continuously improve equity levels. Second, consolidate and enhance daily management levels through monitoring “pilot schools,” optimizing recess activities, strengthening psychological health service management, standardizing homework management and examinations, to ensure that the “health first” concept is firmly implemented throughout the entire growth process of students. Third, consolidate and enhance the capacity for school governance through leadership capacity enhancement programs, organizing specialized training for county and district leaders, internship training at base schools, and evaluating school reputation, to ensure that standardized management requirements are implemented in every school. Fourth, consolidate and enhance campus safety levels by improving linkage mechanisms, strengthening safety hazard investigations, preventing campus bullying, and deepening the “three rectifications,” to ensure detailed implementation of campus safety guarantees. Fifth, consolidate and construct a good educational ecology by regulating social affairs entering campuses, building teacher ethics and conduct, strengthening collaboration between families, schools, and communities, and optimizing the educational environment for students’ healthy growth, teachers’ dedication to education, and societal respect for teachers.
