State Administration of Foreign Exchange: By the end of 2025, China's banking sector's foreign financial assets will reach $1,977.5 billion.
On March 26, People’s Financial News reported that the State Administration of Foreign Exchange announced the data on external financial assets and liabilities of China’s banking sector as of the end of 2025. By the end of 2025, China’s banking sector had external financial assets of $1,977.5 billion and external liabilities of $1,411.0 billion, resulting in external net assets of $566.5 billion. Among these, the net liabilities in RMB totaled $143.6 billion, while the net assets in foreign currencies amounted to $710.1 billion.
