According to a report by Russia’s TASS on the 26th, Alexander Shokhin, the chairman of the Russian Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs, revealed that President Putin expressed his hope for an end to the Middle Eastern conflict in the coming weeks during a meeting with business leaders.

Putin stated clearly that the Middle Eastern conflict has brought excessive profits to Russia as an energy-exporting country, but this situation will not last long. The Russian Ministry of Finance and relevant businesses should not expect a long-term “windfall.”

Additionally, according to the Russian newspaper “Izvestia,” President Putin’s press secretary Dmitry Peskov stated that the Russian government hopes for an immediate cessation of hostilities in the Middle East.

On February 28, the United States and Israel launched a large-scale military operation against Iran, which retaliated against Israel and U.S. military bases in the Middle East. Some regional countries were affected, and shipping through the vital global energy transport route, the Strait of Hormuz, was severely disrupted, leading to significant fluctuations in international oil prices after a sharp increase.
