About Ampleforth (FORTH)
The Ampleforth protocol is a blockchain-based platform running on Ethereum that can be used for lending and borrowing, as well as other DeFi uses. The Ampleforth protocol has two main tokens associated with its platform: AMPL and FORTH. The protocol uses an innovative approach to produce its native AMPL token. Via a set of instructions on Ethereum, the protocol adjusts the supply of the native AMPL token per demand. AMPL supports the Ampleforth ecosystem and is used in the building blocks of the Ampleforth Elastic Finance Ecosystem. It is a decentralized unit that is produced via smart contracts on Ethereum and can be used for lending and borrowing, creating derivatives, as well as for collateral for decentralized stablecoins.FORTH, the platform’s other token, is used in the Ampleforth platform and in FORTH DAO governance.What can FORTH be used for?As mentioned, FORTH unlocks opportunities for its holders to take part in Ampleforth Governance. The governance process takes the form of 6 phases necessary in order to implement changes to the protocol. The process becomes increasingly binding as ideas and proposals get developed and, eventually, deployed on the protocol.In more detail, the steps are as follows:Discussion: Ideas can be discussed across the platform’s social channels, for example, discord, community DAOs, and social media.Proposals: Ideas that have gathered general support from the discussion phase can be put forward as proposals in the form of AIPs and ACCPs.Targeted Discussion: Proposals are then formally discussed in a dedicated forum.
