【Block Beats】Truebit, a verification protocol in the Ethereum ecosystem, disclosed a critical security vulnerability this Thursday. Hackers exploited this vulnerability to successfully purchase large quantities of TRU tokens at extremely low prices, causing direct protocol losses of approximately 8,535 ETH, equivalent to $26.6 million in USD.

How severe is the impact of this incident? Just look at the token’s performance. TRU crashed from approximately $0.16 to $0.0000000007191 in what seemed like an instant—the decline is absolutely catastrophic, essentially meaning the price has collapsed completely. At this point, the project’s market cap has lost all reference value.

This vulnerability incident once again reminds DeFi participants: even the smallest code defects are cash machines in the eyes of attackers.
