Fidelity Executive: Skeptical of Bitcoin's "Four-Year Cycle Conclusion" Narrative
According to Golden Finance, Jurrien Timmer, Global Macro Director at Fidelity, published an article stating that Bitcoin's current trajectory more closely resembles an S-curve of the internet rather than a power law curve. Many Bitcoin supporters claim that the four-year cycle has ended and a new wave of structural uptrend is imminent. "I am skeptical of this, not questioning whether the influence of the halving cycle is weakening (on which I agree), but questioning the claim that bear markets will no longer occur." Currently, Bitcoin's floor is 65,000 USD (the previous high), while the power law trend line shows a floor of 45,000 USD. Although there is still some distance to the target price level, if Bitcoin enters a consolidation phase within the next year, the power law trend line could move closer to 65,000 USD and may become Bitcoin's make-or-break level. But this may (or may not) be something that happens in the future (or within the next year).
