Wushuo learned that the U.S. Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) has warned that North Korean cyber attack groups are launching targeted phishing attacks using malicious QR codes. The targets include think tanks, academic institutions, and organizations related to diplomacy and international affairs. The related attacks impersonate prominent figures in the field of diplomatic policy, embedding QR codes containing malicious links in emails to lure victims from computers to mobile browsers, thereby bypassing email security protections.
