Arbitrum takes a dual approach: upgrading the BoLD protocol to enhance Decentralization and laying out an AI ecosystem to create a DeFAI home.
Arbitrum: Old Hands, New Tricks, Innovative Upgrade
Arbitrum, as a leader in the Ethereum Layer 2 space, has always attracted attention. Despite the emergence of numerous new Layer 2 projects in the market, Arbitrum has not remained stagnant; instead, it continues to optimize its network and expand its ecosystem, demonstrating strong vitality.
Recently, there are two important trends in Arbitrum's technical upgrades and ecosystem development that are worth noting:
1. The mainnet implements the BoLD protocol to enhance decentralization.
Recently, the BoLD protocol was officially activated on the Arbitrum One and Nova chains. This protocol allows for "permissionless verification" on its Layer 2 ecosystem, greatly enhancing the decentralization and security of the network.
Compared to the previous permission-based verification process, the BoLD protocol introduces an interactive, time-limited dispute resolution mechanism, opening participation to all those interested in network security through a permissionless mechanism. This improvement not only simplifies the verification process but also effectively reduces the risk of delay attacks.
By implementing the BoLD protocol, Arbitrum is the closest to achieving Stage 2 decentralization goals among all Ethereum Layer 2 projects, having completed four out of five conditions. This undoubtedly makes the Arbitrum ecosystem more secure and decentralized.
2. Layout the AI track and create "DeFAI Home"
With the rapid development of the global AI industry, Arbitrum's official team has also keenly seized this opportunity and started to vigorously develop the AI ecosystem.
In recent months, Arbitrum has been making significant moves in the AI field. They launched the $1 million Trailblazer program specifically to fund AI project developers on Arbitrum. In addition, the official team has organized AI-themed discussion sessions, compiled a collection of Arbitrum ecosystem AI projects, and explicitly stated their intention to make Arbitrum a "DeFAI home."
Notably, AI projects that have received official support but have not yet issued tokens include Axal, Capx, Aikaverse, Lit, Spheron, and Skynet. Among them, Spheron has opened its whitelist, CapX is conducting an incentivized testnet, and Skynet may soon launch a similar testnet.
These measures clearly indicate that the AI track will become a key development direction for Arbitrum this year.
In summary, Arbitrum is laying a solid foundation for future development through technological innovation and ecological layout. Whether in terms of increased decentralization or the integration of emerging technologies, Arbitrum has demonstrated strong adaptability and foresight. For investors and developers who are focused on the development of blockchain technology, Arbitrum is undoubtedly a project worth continuous attention.
