Oasys Releases Technical Roadmap to Promote Blockchain Game Development
Oasys, as a public chain focused on the blockchain gaming sector, is continuously building the underlying infrastructure for this field. Recently, on the occasion of its two-year anniversary, Oasys released its latest technical roadmap, proposing corresponding solutions to current technical challenges and user pain points, along with short-term and mid-term technical planning.
The three core components of this roadmap are application data availability, layer two interoperability, and ecosystem scalability. Although the underlying blockchain technology has been continuously improved over the past two years, there are still some technical shortcomings in actual applications that need to be addressed.
Technical Challenges Facing the Development of Blockchain Games
Continuity of gaming assets
In traditional Web2 games, the game assets obtained by players often disappear when the game shuts down. Blockchain technology provides a technical foundation to solve the problem of digital asset ownership. However, with the popularity of modular architecture, the continuity of user assets has become a new challenge.
Oasys has proposed an innovative approach: by mirroring game assets on the first layer from the second layer, it can provide permanent protection for user assets even if the second layer data is discarded.
Interoperability of Layer 2 Networks
The second layer network of Oasys is called Verse Layer, implying that each second layer network is an independent "small universe." However, interoperability between different second layer networks has always been a challenge. Oasys plans to introduce cross-chain bridges, adopt universal data formats, and standardize APIs to achieve seamless interoperability between different second layer networks.
scalability of the ecosystem
Building and maintaining a thriving ecosystem is another major challenge facing public chains. Oasys works closely with ecosystem partners to provide them with the necessary tools and resources to support ecosystem development and lower technical barriers. The Oasys Verse development kit (VDK) allows businesses to quickly access preset ecological components, accelerating project launches and content development.
Short-term and Mid-term Technical Planning
In order to keep up with the rapid development pace of the Web3 market, Oasys has established short-term (within 1 year) and medium-term (2-3 years) technical plans.
short-term planning
Standardized Game Asset Specification
Create practical application cases
Provide Oasys Verse development kit
Mid-term Planning
Solve protocol layer issues and achieve the mirroring of layer two assets to layer one.
Develop standardized protocols to ensure interoperability between different layer two networks.
Provide developer tools that align with the vision of Oasys
Oasys has made some progress in short-term planning. For example, it launched the L2 chain XPLA Verse and partnered with the South Korean gaming company Com2uS to bring several well-known games onto the blockchain. Additionally, a blockchain game based on the famous Japanese manga "Captain Tsubasa" has also been officially released on Oasys.
In expanding its ecosystem, Oasys has partnered with Japan's SBI Group to enhance its influence in the Japanese crypto gaming and NFT market. At the same time, Oasys has also collaborated with Kakao's Web3 gaming division, Metabora SG, to support its entry into the Japanese market.
Through these initiatives, Oasys demonstrates its technological innovation capabilities and strategic vision in the blockchain gaming sector, while also showcasing its determination to collaborate with industry giants to promote the development of blockchain games. With the gradual implementation of its technology roadmap, Oasys is steadily advancing towards the vision of establishing global standards for blockchain games, creating value for players and developers while also bringing new experiences and opportunities to the gaming industry.

The roadmap is being blown again, I'm about to throw up from eating too much of the pie.

The underlying infrastructure has been improved, but when will the gaming experience catch up? Even if data interoperability is great, it’s useless if it can’t connect in the end.

Don't mention the technical roadmap, don't mention the technical roadmap, what to do about player attrition!
