XRP is adopting artificial intelligence to resolve issues before they occur. The new AI-assisted technologies include security testing, code modifications, changes to level standards, and more, aimed at enhancing the reliability of XRPL to support global payments, RWA tokenized assets, and other application scenarios.

XRP enhances the software development lifecycle with artificial intelligence.

Artificial intelligence has become a standard for enhancing the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) of blockchain software. Development teams integrate it into various stages of development, including conducting regular adversarial code scans and providing assistance with reviews for each pull request. This approach systematically explores complex code, discovering edge cases and hidden fault patterns that traditional manual testing may overlook. AI can establish a layered defense model, allowing potential issues to be identified and mitigated before entering the Production Environment, thereby improving system predictability.

Since 2012, the XRP Ledger has supported global payments and RWA issuance, processing over 100 million ledger blocks and 3 billion transactions, safeguarding the transfer of billions of dollars in value. Long-running software often contains outdated logic from early designs, so the development team has formed a dedicated AI-assisted red team to analyze the security at the intersections of old and new functionalities, which are typically common areas for vulnerabilities. Currently, the red team has simulated attacker behavior through automated adversarial testing and fuzzing, stress testing the core system (Rippled/XRPLD) and successfully identifying over 10 vulnerabilities. Although most are classified as low-risk, they have all entered the priority repair process.

Testing through a bounty program.

Major changes must undergo multiple independent security audits before going live. XRP conducts real-world testing through an expanded bug bounty program and hackathons. XRP distributes security work among different experts to reduce defensive blind spots. The activation standard for the network amendments in this upgrade has also been raised.

Transparency is another pillar of the security strategy. The development team is committed to regularly disclosing security information and research findings to collaboratively establish security standards for development with the community. Through the security readiness standards released in collaboration with XRPLF, it ensures that all new features meet risk assessment and testing standards before being incorporated into the ledger.

XRP is currently launching pilot projects under the BLOOM program with the Monetary Authority of Singapore to expand Ripple Payments globally, seeking to obtain an Australian financial services license and promote the adoption of the RLUSD stablecoin. Additionally, the Ripple engineering team plans to collaborate with the XRPL Foundation to release new amended security standards in the coming weeks.
