This is ridiculous - two people from the same family are telling completely different stories.
Elon Musk's father, Errol, often brags about how he had an emerald mine in Zambia, and how much money his family had back then? The safe was so full it couldn't close, two people had to push hard to get it shut, and the bills would still poke out. When they were young, Musk and his brother resold emeralds on Fifth Avenue, and once sold two emeralds at Tiffany's for 2,000 dollars, only to turn around and see one of them set in a ring sold for 24,000 dollars.
But Musk's own statement is entirely different.
In 2022, he tweeted to clarify: he did not inherit any wealth and has not received any large gifts. His father's electrical engineering business had been operating for decades but gradually declined. Now it's the other way around — Musk and his brother have to pay their father's bills. Regarding that jade mine? Musk made a harsh statement: “There is absolutely no evidence that it ever existed, no one has seen it, and there are no records.”
The Turning Point Has Arrived: After Elon Musk founded Tesla and SpaceX, his net worth skyrocketed, making him one of the world's top billionaires. What about his father? His financial situation has been deteriorating, and he is now dependent on his son's support. Interestingly, Musk still helps his father, but with one condition — his father must restrain his “bad behavior”.
In the same family, the narrative of wealth can actually be so contradictory. Whose version do you believe?

Elon Musk now pays his father’s Transaction History, but his father said in his youth "there was so much money that the safe couldn't close".
