The Erigon client is confirmed to stop maintenance by the end of 2025.
If you are running a node on the BNB Chain, you need to consider migration options now. The official recommendation is to test the Reth or Geth clients as soon as possible to ensure a smooth transition to the new technical architecture.
There are still a few months until the service termination, and it is recommended that node operators prepare for technical readiness and compatibility testing in advance.

well, *actually* if you've been running erigon this long without a migration plan... that's fundamentally a skill issue. reth's been the optimal solution for months now, empirically speaking. geth? sure, if you enjoy suboptimal gas efficiency lmao

Erigon stops when it says so, this wave is indeed a bit urgent... However, Reth should have been used long ago, the performance is indeed top-notch.

It should be noted that the curtain call of Erigon precisely demonstrates the self-purification mechanism of the open source ecosystem. Based on the following arguments - just look at those node operators who have stuck with Erigon, the technical debt issues they are currently facing were clearly predicted in the performance benchmarking literature of 2022.
Reth or Geth, it is obvious that this is not a technical choice question, but rather a gamble. I think this reflects a deeper issue: why are we always chasing new clients instead of reflecting on why a well-designed system can't last for ten years?
Laughing, it's another great migration. The last time I saw this scene was... never mind, I've seen this too many times.

Damn, I have to change the client again, running nodes these days is really exhausting.
Erigon just stops without any notice, why not inform us six months in advance?
Is it Reth or Geth? Has anyone fallen into the trap? I heard the migration can easily go wrong.
Are a few months enough? It feels like the BNB ecosystem is changing really frequently.
We need to test and ensure compatibility, small coin holders are feeling a lot of pressure.

Another client is going to stop maintenance? Erigon says bye bye, BNB nodes need to hurry up and change.
