Blockchain, to put it simply, is a technology created by mathematics and cryptography!
Why suddenly start this series? A friend who just entered the space said he wants to understand these concepts from scratch, so I thought I'd break it down and explain it separately. It just so happens that you can also review along the way.
Earlier, we talked about how Bitcoin was created, why Satoshi Nakamoto wanted to create such a thing, and how to discover Blockchain from the Bitcoin system. By now, you should have some understanding of Blockchain, right?
Now let's change a few perspectives and completely clarify what Blockchain really is.
**Let's start with an easy-to-understand version** Bitcoin? That's a type of cryptocurrency. Blockchain? It's the underlying technology that supports it.
Speaking of which, the Blockchain was originally derived from Bitcoin. Or conversely, Bitcoin is the first truly successful application case of Blockchain technology.
**Let's put it in a slightly more professional way** Blockchain is a technology system used to represent value and transfer value in the digital world. You can think of it as a ledger system that cannot be easily tampered with, recording who owns what and who transferred what to whom.
Technology is technology, and application is application. Understanding this logic will make many concepts clearer later on.

ngl the "immutable ledger" framing is somewhat reductive... network effects are what actually matter here, adoption curves determine viability not just the math underneath

Wonderful, finally someone has explained this clearly. Not everyone can articulate complex concepts so fluently.

Haha, Satoshi Nakamoto is truly a genius, extracting a system from mathematics
The combination of mathematics and cryptography is absolutely impressive
I like the metaphor of the ledger system; it's like a ledger that no one can change
Wait, didn't they say Blockchain could do more? Why does it feel like it's just revolving around Bitcoin?
Starting from zero is indeed necessary; my few crypto friends really don't understand it.

tbh the math checks out for bitcoin's security model but let's not pretend every chain that came after actually solved anything... most just added bloat with worse tokenomics.

To put it simply, it's a Distributed Ledger, there's nothing mysterious about it; only math enthusiasts understand that set.

honestly the "immutable ledger" framing is where the real transmutation happens... but nah most ppl just see bitcoin first and think blockchain is just that lol
