Don't remind me again today

The AI landscape in one of the world's largest tech markets seems headed toward an interesting paradox. While ambitions run sky-high and investment pours in, the path to meaningful profitability appears surprisingly narrow and stretched out over time.

What we're seeing isn't a lack of innovation or capability—far from it. The challenge lies in the economic reality: massive infrastructure costs, intense competition driving down prices, and the time needed to monetize AI applications at scale. Early movers are burning through capital while racing to capture market share, but sustainable margins remain elusive.

This creates a peculiar situation where technological advancement outpaces business model maturity. Companies might deliver impressive demos and pilot projects, yet struggle to convert that innovation into consistent revenue streams. The gap between technical achievement and financial return could persist for years.

For investors and builders in the broader tech ecosystem, this matters. AI infrastructure costs affect everything from cloud services to decentralized computing networks. If profit margins stay razor-thin, it reshapes how we think about AI integration across industries—including emerging sectors like decentralized AI and on-chain machine learning applications.

The road ahead? Long, winding, and potentially less lucrative than the hype suggests. At least in the near term.

A typical tech bubble narrative... burning cash for market share, and in the end, it's still uncertain who will survive. The on-chain costs are especially painful—the gas fees alone are enough to discourage people, so how can anyone expect a sustainable margin?

ngl this is a typical bubble period—technology is booming but not making money, and capital is dancing wildly in a money-burning game

The technology is impressive, no doubt, but it really doesn't make any money... That's the harsh reality.

Well said, having great technology but not making money is the same old story... No matter how impressive the demo is, it’s useless.

ngl this is just reality, the demo looks good and all, but if you really want to make money you still have to wait... the infrastructure costs are just too much to handle

To be honest, this wave of AI is just a money-burning show. The demos are impressive, but monetization is really difficult.
