Yesterday, as soon as the US stock market opened, it surged upward, and BTC also took off—what’s the reason? The US officially hit the pause button on quantitative tightening.

To put it simply, Bitcoin is a thermometer for liquidity. As soon as QT stops, the price reacts immediately. This round of gains is more about sentiment running wild, with the market speculating whether the Fed is about to open the floodgates again. Even the news of rate hikes from Japan couldn't dampen this optimism.

But to be clear, until real, substantial liquidity returns, this looks more like a technical rebound. Looking for a full reversal? Still a long way to go.

Who will be the next Fed chair? Trump dropped a hint in his speech yesterday—he’ll announce the pick early next year. He even mentioned, “a certain potential candidate is here in the audience,” which was a pretty obvious nod to Hassett as the successor. The reason for waiting until next year to make it official is probably to allow enough time for the nomination and vetting process.

On the data side, there’s movement too: on December 1, the Fed conducted $13.5 billion in overnight repo operations, the largest since the pandemic in 2020 and even bigger than during the dot-com bubble burst in 2000. The signal that the market is being injected with liquidity is pretty clear.

Musk has been making statements again recently, mentioning that $38.3 trillion debt time bomb, and saying it could cause wild swings in Bitcoin’s price. His logic is interesting: “In the future, the concept of ‘money’ will disappear—energy will be the real hard currency. Bitcoin is based on energy, and you can’t just create energy out of thin air with a piece of legislation.”

He also predicted that within three years, AI will make the supply of goods and services… ( Interview content to be continued )

The liquidity thermometer is spot on, that's exactly how it is. Hasset's rise is basically a sure thing, Trump's hint shouldn't be too obvious. Elon Musk is talking about energy hard currency again, alright, I'll just listen. 135 billion overnight repurchase? That scale is indeed shocking, a prelude to crazy liquidity injection. The rebound is a rebound, but the real big market trend has to wait until liquidity materializes.

Unwinding balance sheet pause = liquidity injection expectation, this logic makes sense. But the actual liquidity hasn't arrived yet, it's too early to celebrate now. Just wait for the new Federal Reserve Chair's decision, then we'll know if it's truly easing or just a fake out. Elon Musk's remarks are interesting, but can Bitcoin really withstand inflation? We'll see how things develop... What are the chances of Hsu taking office? Anyway, Trump has already signaled his stance, we’ll see how the script unfolds at the start of the year. This rebound feels good, but I still think it's better to wait before acting; the risks haven't been fully released yet. A $13.5 billion buyback operation—this scale is indeed shocking. The market should wake up. The saying that energy is the hard currency sounds convincing but also a bit far-fetched... The balance sheet unwind has paused, shorts should be crying. But it's just a technical rebound—don’t be fooled. It feels like this round of price increases is all emotional in. Once policies shift, it will be the end. AI changing supply within three years? Let's see the current situation first—it's a bit too optimistic.

The term "liquidity thermometer" is brilliant; it truly reveals the truth about the linkage between stocks, bonds, and cryptocurrencies... But this recent rally is indeed fake; let's wait for actual liquidity injection to see.

The term "liquidity thermometer" is absolutely spot-on—simple and effective. But a sentiment rebound is just that, a sentiment rebound. Anyway, I’ve already stocked up what I needed, just waiting for real liquidity to come in.

The liquidity thermometer metaphor is absolutely spot-on, but I think this rebound is just a trick to accumulate positions. Wait, is Hassett really coming on board? Trump is playing this move like a pro. $13.5 billion buyback—oh my, that's even bigger than during the pandemic. What is the Fed trying to do? Musk's energy theory sounds exciting, but can it really be achieved? I think we still need to wait and see. This rally is just an emotional frenzy—don't be fooled, everyone.

liquidity theater meets governance theater, just different clowns. the fed didn't "pause" anything meaningful—they're just repositioning. and yeah, musk's energy-as-money angle is actually the only honest take i've heard all week, tbh.

The liquidity thermometer metaphor is spot on, but honestly, I’m still a bit skeptical about this rally. It feels like funds are just betting on the Fed’s psychological expectations, and once the real data comes out, things might look totally different. Musk’s theory that “energy is the real hard currency” is definitely novel, but can this guy stop overcomplicating things every time? He makes it sound like BTC can save the world economy, which is a bit far-fetched. Pausing quantitative tightening ≠ real liquidity injection. Don’t get carried away by emotions, everyone—this rebound might just be a trap for accumulating positions. What if Hassett takes over? That’s the real question. If the policy direction changes, BTC might reverse course again.
