Another one down! The metaverse game ChronoForge announces server shutdown on December 30. The founder's personal funds are no longer sufficient to keep it going.

【BiTi】Another metaverse game project can’t hold up anymore. ChronoForge just officially announced it will shut down on December 30th, with the founder bluntly stating in the announcement, “The resistance was too strong.”

A broken funding chain is the last straw that breaks the camel’s back. Since July this year, the founder has been injecting personal funds to sustain development, and the team has even cut 80% of its staff. Who can withstand such a money-burning speed?

Looking back at this project: 7,500 playable NFT characters, along with a bunch of mini-games. The developer is Minted Loot Studios, and the token ecosystem is managed by the affiliated organization Rift Foundation. When the project launched its first NFT series in 2022, the community atmosphere was quite lively.

But the reality is so cruel—relying solely on passion and vision in a bear market simply can’t keep it alive. The fate of ChronoForge is probably just a microcosm of many chain game projects.

Even the founders can't save it out of their own pockets—that's the fate of blockchain games. Another one caught in the bear market. No matter how good the fundraising story is, it doesn't help. 80% of the team is cut, and once the funding chain breaks, the game is gone—brutal reality. Basically, it's a money-burning game; no real economic model can sustain it. NFT games really need to wake up. How many more will die in this wave?

The founders can't even cover the costs themselves; this is the current state of blockchain games. Another PPT project has collapsed; the bear market is truly ruthless. 7500 NFT characters can't save it, haha. Losing money to shut down the server shows at least some conscience. What happened to the promised metaverse dream? Still wanted to change the world in 2022. How many people got cut in this wave? I don't dare to look at the reactions of the token holders. The team reduced 80% of its staff; how can we expect quality? Emotional value is worth so little; the bear market is a true test of worth.

Even the founder's own money can't keep it afloat. This bear market is really desperate. Another big dream of making it big has been shattered.
