Currently, the token standards that can meet these conditions simultaneously are quite limited. Circle's ERC-3009 (transferWithAuthorization) is currently the only option.
Sounds good, but this protocol is too obscure. Apart from USDC, almost no other mainstream tokens follow suit in the entire market. This directly leads to the awkward situation of applications like x402—almost only supporting USDC, but being powerless against USDT, USD1, DAI, and other mainstream stablecoins. Even USDC on BNB Chain isn't compatible.
To put it simply, the ecosystem is still stuck on the hurdle of standard unification.

Oh dear, this is the common issue in Web3. There are plenty of standards, but no one follows them. USDC is lonely using ERC-3009, but USDT just refuses. Truly remarkable.

It's another battle over standards. Circle's approach simply can't gain traction, and the ecosystem's fragmentation is truly beyond saving.

In simple terms, ERC-3009 is just a product of bad timing; having USDC as the dominant stablecoin doesn't help either.
---
It's the same old problem of inconsistent standards—give it a rest, this ecosystem.
---
USDT and DAI are not following suit; even if ERC-3009 is great, it's useless.
---
Only supporting USDC? Then it's better to just hardcode it directly.
---
As for ecosystem fragmentation, it seems there's little hope in the short term.
---
USDC on BNB Chain isn't even compatible; how obscure is this protocol?

ERC-3009 is this? Circle is a one-man show, and other big players are not following. This standard is doomed to stay cold.
