Skip the breakout trap. The smarter play? Wait for the retest. Identify your clear resistance zones first—those price levels where the chart has consistently bounced back before. Once you spot them, wait for price to pull back and test that level again. That's your entry signal.
Why this works: By the time a breakout happens, most of the move is already priced in. You're buying high energy, not high probability. A retest shows genuine strength—price hit resistance, sellers stepped in, then buyers fought back. That's conviction.
Exit when the chart runs higher after your entry. Don't overthink it. The setup told you when to get in; the upthrust tells you when to get out. Simple mechanics, better odds than chasing candles that already closed.

Retest is indeed much more reliable than chasing highs; repeatedly verifying the position is the true margin of safety.

Retest, you really only understand after experiencing losses... I used to like chasing breakouts, but it often resulted in catching the top and taking on the risk.
I believe in the logic of repeatedly testing resistance levels, but in practice, the exit signals are often easy to delay.
This strategy sounds simple, but executing it with the right mindset is the most difficult.

I really can't understand why so many people are still chasing breakouts. Aren't you tired of watching others cut their losses?
Retest is indeed tough; it really tests patience...

Re-test, this set is pretty good, but after too many people know about it, it actually becomes a contrarian indicator haha

I've already played this retest so many times, but there's still someone chasing breakouts every day and losing so badly that they're questioning their life. LOL

Retesting is indeed more solid, but are there really that many people who can resist chasing the breakout... I personally haven't been able to resist.

Retesting is indeed more stable, but I still have to say that there won't be a shortage of people chasing higher... That's just how the market is; the simpler the thing, the fewer people will stick with it.
Retest Strategy Beats Breakout Chasing
