Court reveals: Suspect was carrying a cryptocurrency password note at the time of arrest, with encrypted assets highlighting identity during the investigation

【CryptoWorld】A recently exposed court testimony has sounded an alarm in the crypto community. Court documents from a Manhattan case show that shortly after the CEO of United Health Insurance was shot and killed, investigators found a note filled with writing in the suspect Mangiolone’s backpack when he was arrested in Pennsylvania — and it prominently recorded cryptocurrency password information.

This note later became evidence in court and was displayed during a pre-trial hearing in New York. Although the original was obscured with a black block labeled “Encrypted — Cryptocurrency Seed Phrase,” it was enough to spark speculation. The key issue is that the court has not disclosed which cryptocurrency the note corresponds to, nor whether the suspect actually controlled the related assets.

This case highlights a broader reality — the presence of crypto assets in various incidents is increasing, from everyday transactions to unconventional scenarios. Large-scale crypto asset flows are becoming a focus for law enforcement. For users holding cryptocurrencies, this is a reminder: private key management is not just a technical issue; when personal safety is involved, extra caution is essential.

ngl this is giving major "store your seeds in your brain, not paper" energy... like bro, that's literally portfolio therapy 101. your anxiety levels must've been through the roof to write it down lmfao

Writing the password on a note? Bro, how clueless do you have to be to do something like that... Really, you've just sold yourself out.

Writing the password on a note? Dude, that's really bold. This is the biggest joke in Web3.

well, *actually* if you're writing down seed phrases on paper like some normie, you're already losing the optimization game. formal verification would've prevented this whole mess.

A note with the password? Bro, that's just too outrageous... Did you really write the seed phrase as a shopping list? --- Alright, another case where someone dug their own grave. Now even judges are starting to pay attention to wallets. --- So now, doing bad things also requires managing private keys. The times really have changed. --- This is just ridiculous. Why insist on writing down the mnemonic phrase... That shows how little trust there is in hardware wallets. --- This story teaches us one principle: keep a low profile with your coins, don’t reveal everything. --- Courts are starting to study cryptocurrency now. Our circle is really heating up. --- I can't imagine how a judge looks when they see a black mosaic question mark face. --- Now, great, another wave of mainstream media sensationalism. --- Come to think of it, if it's really a large amount of assets, why does this guy still use a note? --- Terrorists are also starting to use cryptocurrencies. Regulation really needs to get moving.

Note with hidden password, this guy is really hardcore, luckily it wasn't cracked on the spot... --- So the mafia financiers now have to self-learn wallet management? --- Now even assassins need to understand encryption... Web3 has truly infiltrated every corner --- I just want to know who’s in charge of his pile of coins now, are they rotten on the chain? --- Haha, another "I just look and stay silent" courtroom black block handling, those FBI folks are so particular --- Can this case also give us a quick lesson on how much a seed phrase is worth in terms of lives? --- So true, true asset privacy can only be demonstrated when you're at the knife's edge
