The son of a deputy mayor of Ukraine was murdered by a classmate over cryptocurrency assets, and the suspect included the stepson of the Ukrainian ambassador to Bulgaria
Deep Tide TechFlow News, December 14th, according to Red Star News, an incident related to cryptocurrency occurred in Vienna, Austria. The victim is Danila Kuzmin, the 21-year-old son of Sergey Kuzmin, Deputy Mayor of Kharkiv, Ukraine. Two suspects, both Ukrainian nationals, have been arrested.
Police investigations indicate that the motive for the crime was to obtain Danila’s cryptocurrency wallet password. During his studies in Vienna, Danila reportedly told classmates that his father was a deputy mayor and owned cryptocurrency assets. The suspects first attacked Danila in a hotel parking lot, then held him in a car for several hours to torture him until he revealed the passwords to two crypto wallets.
The two suspects are Alexander Agoyev, a 45-year-old former Ukrainian customs officer, and Bogdan Reynzhuk, a 19-year-old. The latter is the stepson of Olesya Ilashuk, the Ukrainian ambassador to Bulgaria. Police confirmed that Danila’s cryptocurrency wallet had large transfer record
